Mento Produce is a 5TH  generation produce company. Our horse and buggy logo is reflective of our heritage. Our father’s great grandfather would go to the farmers market daily to purchase fruits and vegetables and peddle them through the streets of Syracuse.

Next came Fred Mento, our grandfather, he bought his first truck and started his route selling to stores and restaurants in Western New York.
     
In 1956 our father, Frank Mento, a Korean War Veteran joined the business and started building our customer base. Soon after in 1966 he purchased the Mattes Fruit Company. He started with a small company and three trucks.

In 1977, he bought Weinreb Fruit and Produce and moved into a 6000-square foot building and grew our fleet of trucks to 7.

Fred joined the company in 1976, Lisa in 1980, Frank in 1987, Travis in 1996 and Makenzi in 2013.

In August of 2017 Lisa Mento took over as president and majority owner of Mento Produce Company Inc.

IN 1993, we opened our own 22,000 square foot warehouse and employ 38 people. We have a fleet of 10 trucks and cover 85% of New York State. We look forward to a bright future selling produce "the way it used to be".
